Carriers who are not apportioned for Manitoba, must apply for a temporary trip or fuel permit to operate on Manitoba’s highways.

Who needs a permit?

When traveling from your base province into another jurisdiction in which you are not registered or apportioned and typically when any one of the following criteria apply:
The gross vehicle/combination exceeds a registered weight of 26,000 lbs (11 797 kgs).
The vehicle (power unit only) is traveling on 3 or more axles.

What information are needed to get the permit?

NSC (National Safety Code) number
Name and address of the registered owner of the truck
Year, Make of the truck and registered province
Last six of the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
Registered weight of the vehicle, Trailer(if available)
An email address or a fax number where to send the permit
The exact origin and destination address
Provincial highway numbers
Total axles on the ground ( Truck + Trailer (if applicable) )
Tire Sizes

The permit is good up to 72 hours
