Carriers that are not apportioned for Saskatchewan, must apply for a temporary trip permit to operate on Saskatchewan’s highways.
When traveling from your base province into another jurisdiction in which you are not registered or apportioned and typically when any one of the following criteria apply:
The gross vehicle/combination exceeds a registered weight of 26,000 lbs (11 797 kgs).
The vehicle (power unit only) is traveling on 3 or more axles.
The permit is good up to 72 hours or less.
Usually 2 – 3 hours after your application has been processed.
